It’s been a whirlwind holiday for Kendrick Lamar.
After dropping DAMN. on Good Friday, many speculated that the rapper would drop another album on Easter Sunday. But that was not the case. Instead, K.Dot merely sold 610,000 equivalent album units in its’ first week while amassing another 300 million streams.
Not a bad first week for the Compton-native. In an encore performance, Kendrick closed out Coachella weekend with a simple and powerful performance that featured classics such as "Money Trees" and "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" along with several songs from DAMN.
That may have been his first live performance of DAMN. but it surely won’t be the last. Kendrick announced his DAMN. North American Tour on Twitter which will kick off July 12 in Phoenix, Ariz. and also features Travis Scott and D.R.A.M. The tour includes 17 stops across North America including Atlanta, Chicago, Brooklyn, Las Vegas, L.A. and two stops at our northern neighbor in Toronto and Vancouver.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on April 28.
