Kendrick Lamar was the winner of the evening, snagging the most awards won in 2017 for VMAs.
Kendrick opened the show with audio of news reports talking about rap music and police brutality, and honestly, would we expect anything less?
From that point, Lamar dives into "DNA.," and even has fire performers that have literally LIT THEMSELVES ON FIRE and danced.
It was easily the best performance of the night, so being the opener, the show pretty much peaked there.
