LeAnn Rimes Opens Up About Heartbreaking Memory From Her Childhood

LeAnn Rimes was just 14 years old when she won a Grammy award. In fact, she made history as no other artist had ever won a Grammy at such a young age.

In an interview with The Press-Enterprise, Rimes opens up about what it was like growing up in the spotlight.

While the country music singer admits her teachers were very proud of her accomplishments, that wasn't the case with her peers.

Rimes says several of her classmates used to tease and pick on her because she was a singer. She added, "Girls can be really mean at times."

The memories of being bullied still haunt her to this day. As a result, the country star has teamed up with an anti-bullying organization -- in the hopes of preventing bullying. Rimes is also working with the Friend Movement to give kids who have been bullied an outlet and support system.
