DJ Tone has been infatuated with music from an early age. He was raised listening to all types of music. In 1979 with the introduction of Hip Hop, I knew that it would always be a part of my life. I enlisted in the Army in 1986 and I started DJing Professionally in 1987. I have DJ's in Germany, Israel, Bosnia, Korea and all over the country. Growing up in the golden age of hip hop, I used to listen to Mr. Magic & DJ Marley Marl, Afrika Islam, DJ Pete Rock, DJ Kid Capri and countless NY DJ's and there laid the foundation and I knew that one day I wanted to be a Mixshow DJ. In 2004, I submitted demo tapes to "That Other Station" but did not get hired, so one Tuesday Afternoon I made a chance phone call in to "Mike Tech" and asked for a chance to become "A Goodfella". Mike Tech and Uzi D seeing potential gave me the opportunity that I dreamed about for years. The Goodfell a's is a gifted crew of DJ's and I played my position, filling in for DJ Flash Gordon or DJ Skillz or any other DJ that could not make their show. I finally got my own Mixshow in July 2006. My early shows were not impressive but in time I started learing from the best DJ's on the East Coast. In November 2008, I became the DJ for the Prime Time Mixshow "The Saturday Night Spin Cycle. My current host is G Moiny and the mixshow is eloquently named "Ugly Radio". If I had to describe my style, I would have to say I love Hip Hop, I enjoy acapella blends and doing things to change the complexion of a record without taking away the artistic feel. Check me out every Saturday Night from 8pm to 12am and Keep It Hip Hop!!!! |
