Drake Set to Return to the Small Screen

They say there is nothing like coming home, and for Drake, most of us remember his first home being the small screen.

The Canadian-born rapper is set to appear in the London-based drama, Top Boy. Drake recently bought the rights to the show after UK TV Channel 4 dropped the show.

According to Mirror.co, 34-year-old Ashley Walters plays Dushane on the show and shared some positive experiences when first meeting the Canadian superstar and now TV show producer.

“We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him. He loves acting, of course he wanted a part,” shared Walters. “He’s going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it.”

After just two seasons the show was dropped, but Drake loved the premise so much that he bought the rights and a third season will be appearing on Netflix sometime in 2018. Also slated to make an appearance is British grime rapper and good friend, Skepta.

Before dedicating his life to music, Drake was best-known for his role as Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Hopefully the rapper won’t end up in a wheelchair with his latest TV stint.
