According to the Los Angeles Times, regulations in L.A. forbid marijuana businesses from setting up in residential neighborhoods. There are strict regulations on how these businesses can grow and sell their marijuana in the new marketplace. Buffer zones will also be placed around public parks, schools and libraries.
Marijuana use is still illegal in the eyes of the Feds, however, due to there being hundreds of illegal marijuana dispensaries and growers in Los Angeles. So the city is hoping to impose order after today’s vote.
