Ex-wife of Cleveland Cavalier’s player Lorenzen Wright arrested and charged in his 2010 murder
It’s been more than seven years since 34 year old Lorenzen Wright’s body was found in a field near his hometown of Memphis. The former Cleveland Cavalier’s body was found on July 28, 2010, ten days after his mother had reported him missing to the police.
46 year old Sherra Wright, Wright’s ex wife, was arrested Friday night in Riverside, California and charged with his murder. An autopsy report revealed bullet fragments in his skull, chest and right forearm. Police found the murder weapon a month ago in a lake about 75 miles east of Memphis. And on Dec. 5, Billy Turner, a deacon at the church, Sherra White attended, was indicted on a first degree murder charge in connection to Wright’s murder. Turner, however, has since pleaded not guilty.
According to a release from the Shelby County District Attorney’s office, they believe Billy and Sherra both plotted to kill the NBA player.
Sherra Wright had received $1 million from her slain husband’s life insurance policy.
