After the Storm Closings And Delays

  • SCHOOLS/COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES

    • Cumberland County Schools will conduct a 3-hour early release for students on Wednesday September 12. Prime Time before- and after-school care program will close 2 hours after schools dismiss. The school system will be closed on Thursday, September 13 through Friday, September 21 for all students. Staff will have an optional workday on Thursday, September 20 and Friday, September 21.
    • Methodist University will close Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 8 a.m. to allow students time to travel home to their families ahead of the storm. Methodist University will remain closed until Thursday, September 20, when essential employees will return to campus. Unless conditions worsen, students may begin returning to their residence halls Sunday, September 23. At this point, classes will resume at 8 a.m. Monday, September 24. All athletic and other events are canceled until Monday morning.
    • Whiteville City Schools will be closed until Monday, September 24.
    • Bladen County Schools will be closed for students on Wednesday, September 12 through Friday, September 14 with an optional teacher workday on Wednesday, September 12.
    • Hoke County Schools will be closed Monday, September 17 through Thursday, September 20. There is an optional workday on Thursday.
    • Scotland County Schools will be on a 1/2 day-early release schedule on Wednesday for students and schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
    • Public Schools of Robeson County will be closed on Monday, September 17 and until further notice.
    • Robeson Community College will close Thursday, September 13 at 3pm, and for the remainder of the week.
    • UNC Pembroke will be closed Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14.
    • Sampson County Schools will be closed Monday, September 17 and will remain closed until further notice.
    • Central Carolina Community College will be closed on Monday, September 17th and Tuesday, September 18th.
    • Harnett County Schools will be closed Monday, September 17 through Friday, September 21. There is an optional workday on Thurssday, September 20 and Friday, September 21.
    • Johnston County Schools will be closed Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18. There is teacher workday on Tuesday, September 18.
    • Lee County Schools will have a 2 hour delay on Thursday, September 20.
    • Montgomery County Schools will be closed Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18. There is an optional teacher workday on Tuesday, September 18.
    • Duplin County Schools will be closed until Monday, September 24.
    • Columbus County Schools will be closed until Monday, September 24.
    • Fayetteville Technical Community College will be closed through Sunday, September 23.
    • Southeastern Community College will be closed through Satruday, September 22.
    • Moore County Schools will be closed on Thursday, September 20 with an optional workday for staff. There will be a 2 hour delay on Friday, September 21.
    • Clinton City Schools will be closed on Thursday, September 20 with an optional workday for staff.

    BUSINESSES

    • Robeson County Court House is Closed Thursday and Friday
    • Mt. Aire Farms day and night shift closed Monday, September 17.
    • The Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) will make its last pickups at bus stops at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12.  Buses will then return to the Transit Center or Cross Creek Mall, dropping off customers before suspending service at approximately 6:30 p.m.  FASTTRAC! ADA service will make its last trips at 6:30 p.m. FAST will not provide fixed route or FASTTRAC! ADA service on Thursday or Friday, Sept. 13-14.  The resumption of scheduled Transit services will be announced once weather and road conditions permit safe operations. The FAST Transit Center will close at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and will reopen once regular service resumes.  Greyhound buses will suspend its operations from Fayetteville at 7:00 p.m.
    • Fayetteville Regional Airport is preparing for the potential effects of Hurricane Florence and will provide updates on flights and airport services throughout the duration of this storm. All airlines are offering change fee waivers to customers whose flights are affected by Hurricane Florence.
      • Currently, all flights for American Airlines have been canceled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The last outbound flight will depart at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Flights are currently scheduled to resume on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m.
      • United Airlines have canceled all flights for Thursday and Friday. The last outbound flight will depart at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Flights are currently scheduled to resume on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2:25 p.m.
      • Delta Airlines is canceling all flights for Thursday. The last inbound flight will arrive at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Flights are currently still scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14. Delta continues to monitor conditions and will announce cancellations and/or delays as the storm approaches.
      • Enterprise, Alamo and National rental car services will be closed for Thursday and Friday with plans to reopen Saturday. Hertz, Thrifty, Avis, and Budget are monitoring weather updates and will announce any closures as the storm progresses.
    • Fayetteville VA Clinics
      • Fayetteville VA Medical Center’s coastal clinics – Wilmington Heath Care Center, and Brunswick County and Jacksonville Community-based Outpatient Clinics are closed through Friday, Sept. 14.
      • Fayetteville VA’s inland outpatient clinics except Fayetteville Health Care Center -- Hamlet, Goldsboro and Robeson County, and Sanford Community-based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) close at noon, Thursday, Sept. 13 and remain closed Friday, sept. 14.
      • Fayetteville Health Care Center (FHCC) and Fayetteville Rehabilitation Clinic (FRC) will be closed, Friday, Sept. 14.
      • Fayetteville VAMC inpatient operations and Urgent Care Center at the main campus 2300 Ramsey St location are open year-round.
    • LIFE St Joseph of the Pines will be closed Monday, September 17
    • Hoke County Government offices will be closed Monday, September 17
    • Hope Mills Government offices will be closed Monday, September 17
    • Soffe Plants in both Fayetteville and Rowland along with Salt life Distribution and dtg2go will be closed on Monday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 19
    • Cape Fear Eye Associates will be closed Monday, September 17
    • Cumberland County Government offices will be closed Monday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 19
    • Moore County Government offices will be closed Monday, September 17
    • City of Fayetteville Government offices will be closed Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18
    • Bragg Mutual Federal Credit Union offices will open at 11am on Monday, September 17.
    • The Town of Hope Mills will be closed Tuesday, September 18 through Friday, September 21.
    • Robeson County Offices will be closed until Monday, September 24.
    • Fayetteville DMV Offices will be closed Tuesday, September 18.
    • Town of Spring Lake offices will be closed on Wednesday, September 19. This includes the Spring Lake Transit System, as well as Waste Industries services, Parks and Recreation, and the Senior Enrichment Center.
