Yesterday, we reported a mandatory evacuation was ordered for parts of Harnett County. Later on in the day, parts of Cumberland County were also ordered to evacuate.

Now, areas in Robeson have also been ordered to evacuate.

A tweet posted on the Fayetteville Observer Twitter account indicates that mandatory evacuations have been ordered for south and west Lumberton. The news was shared by a spokeswoman for the county.

The Southeast Area Transit System is operating and can transport people safely to shelters. The designated shelters for Robeson County are located at: Fairmont Middle, Lumberton High, Purnell Swett, and St. Pauls High.

While Florence has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression, the lingering downpours have increased the likelihood we will see widespread flooding as local waterways continue to rise.
