This Guy Just Became The Richest Athlete Ever
We’ve witnessed sports history.
Yesterday, Canelo Alvarez signed the biggest contract in sports history, like ever.
According to CBSSports, his $365 million deal over 11 total fights is the largest deal a sport has ever seen. That’s an average of $33.2 million per fight. To put that into perspective, the second largest deal ever belongs to Giancarlo Stanton of the New York Yankees at $325 million over 13 years, that’s an average of $25 million a year.

The next three sports icons to round out the top five are Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols & Robinson Cano, then finally someone who doesn’t play baseball in James Harden at number six, but then the next four are all baseball players again.
What’s even better about this whole thing is Canelo didn’t spend anytime being fixated on his new deal, but immediately challenged Floyd Mayweather to a rematch.
Will we get it? Who knows, I personally think it would be a bad move on Floyd’s part, I think he may be on the downslope of his career as far as boxing goes, and Canelo has looked the best he ever has.
With that said, I would still love to see them go at it again.
