Today (Feb. 26), Solange brought back Blackplanet to tease a new project, and Black Twitter just exploded.
The "Cranes in the Sky" singer shared a video screenshot of her Blackplanet page via her Instagram and Twitter accounts. "taking ovaa www.blackplanet.com/solange/ ???????? new world wiide web ⚫️ (link in daa)," the singer wrote.
Blackplanet is a social networking site marketed towards African-Americans that became popular in the early 2000s.

Lula Dualeh, Blackplanet's audience development manager is behind the project. She confirmed that Solange's Blackplanet takeover is the project that she has been working on for over a year.
On Solange's Blackplanet page there are moving images of the singer standing in front of an old Cadillac, wearing white cowboy boots and a jeweled bra and bikini bottom, Solange standing in a metallic bodysuit with matching silver boots, and video of the white Cadillac moving in what looks like an old warehouse or building.
If you refresh the artist's page, at some point there's a video of three Black women wearing all black leather outfits and rocking '90s hairstyles that were probably put in place using popular '90s Bronner Brother's Pump It Up hairspray. At the end of the video, there are a black woman's hands adorned with long red nails decorated with rhinestones. The hands move in a motion that gives off a magical vibe.
There are also a series of what might possibly be lyrics on the page:
- I made the pilgrimage back to the pagoda of third ward Houston to answer this.
- When your body is all you have you best take care.
When your body is all you have you best take care. - For the bad weaves and two ways.
- I swallowed the light....
- Threw my earnings like offerings and prayed it went to something that made her feel good.
- How much of ourselves do we leave at home and how much do we carry with us forever?
- But I did not sit in the sun.
- How much of ourselves do we leave at home and how much do we carry with us forever?

Solange is also on one of the featured covers for i-D magazine's "homegrown" issue. She shared her cover via her Instagram account, which was the Houston native's first post since October 2018.
