Nipsey Hussle’s Business Partner Recounts What Happened Before The Rapper Was Fatally Shot
Nipsey Hussle’s business partner recently spoke out and shared what happened before the rapper was fatally shot.
Herman Douglas, Nipsey Hussle’s business partner recently talked to the LA Times about what happened before the 33-year-old rapper was fatally shot six times in the head and torso on Sunday (Mar. 31) outside of his apparel store Marathon Clothing in South Los Angeles.
“Nipsey was doing positive things in the community. Trying to save lives and for one of the people that he was trying to save to come back and kill him. It was nothing but jealousy and envy,” Douglas said.
“It’s a sad situation. The world is going to miss Nipsey. Not just this neighborhood but around the world.”
Herman said that he knew Nipsey Hussle since 2003, and the two met while a young Nipsey Hussle was selling CDs.
“Me and Nipsey was talking and the dude that shot him he came and shook our hands. Said he was a rapper and all this old bullsh**. The dude went and got his burger. He left. When he left I went and took my food in,” Herman explained.
“As soon as I took my food inside the building, dude came back around the building busting. I might have left Nipsey’s side maybe three seconds. I had left Nipsey maybe approximately three seconds that I had left Nipsey and the dude came and shot him. We know who he is. It’s no mystery. We know who he is. Like I said it’s all hate and envy. That’s all it was. It was jealousy, hate, and envy. Nipsey didn’t deserve to die like that.”
Herman went on to say that there was no beef between Nipsey Hussle and his killer.
That contrasts with the report from Los Angeles Police Department’s Chief of Police, Chief Michel Moore , who said during LAPD’s live press conference Tuesday (Apr. 2) that he believed that there actually was a personal issue between Nipsey Hussle and Eric Holder, the suspect in the “Dedication” rapper’s murder investigation.
Holder was taken into custody on Apr. 2 in Bellflower, California, which is about 20 miles southeast of LA.
Today (Apr. 4), Holder was charged with murder, reports the Hollywood Reporter. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office stated that Holder was charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Holder is being held without bail, and if he is convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison.
