Police Investigated Anonymous Claim: Wendy Williams’ Husband Was Poisoning Her
Law enforcement paid Wendy Williams a visit to check on her after receiving a random call that alleged that the talk show host’s husband, Kevin Hunter was poisoning her.
The call was made anonymously in January from someone who claimed to be working for Williams’ production company, according to a police report that was obtained by TMZ.
According to the police report, two officers went to the talk show host’s home in New Jersey and were greeted by Hunter, who hesitated to let them in for a welfare check because he stated that Williams was sick and recovering from a health issue.
The police said that they explained to Hunter that they were required to speak with Williams because of the anonymous call.
Once Hunter allowed the cops to enter the home, Williams was found in bed “with the blanket covering from neck to toe.”
One of the officers then asked Hunter to leave the bedroom so they could talk to Williams in private, but Hunter didn’t want to leave Williams’ side.
Williams told law enforcement that she was recovering from a broken shoulder.
One of the officers then asked her if there was any truth to the anonymous phone call and the talk show host replied by saying something like, “Well, I’m very popular.”
The officer then repeated the question and Williams became tearful but denied the allegations.
Law enforcement eventually left once Williams told them that she was okay.
Earlier this month, Williams filed for divorce from Hunter, amid cheating rumors, and weeks after she returned to her talk show, announcing that she was living on a sober house and receiving treatment for addiction.
