Marshawn Lynch To Reportedly Retire From NFL Again
Running back Marshawn Lynch may be retiring again.
In 2017, Lynch came out of retirement to play for his hometown team Oakland Raiders because he wanted to play at home before the Raiders permanently relocated to Las Vegas.
According to ESPN‘s After two seasons playing for his hometown Oakland Raiders, Marshawn Lynch is not planning to play football again, league sources tell ESPN.
Now, with the three-day draft kicking off Thursday night in Nashville, the Raiders have one more potential need to address: running back.
On Thursday (Apr. 25), Lynch will be sharing his decision to stay in the NFL or to exit after the NFL Draft, as CBS Sports reports.
Lynch’s NFL career was launched with the Buffalo Bills where he played from 2007 to 2010.
Following playing for the Buffalo Bills, the running back began playing for the Seattle Seahawks from 2010 to 2015.
After the 33-year-old’s stint with the Seahawks, Lynch shared his retirement by posting a photo of hung up cleats on Twitter.
Two years later, Lynch put on his cleats again to join the Raiders.
“With me being from here and continuing to be here, it gives them an opportunity to see someone who actually did it, who is from where they’re from, someone they probably idolized,” he told USA Today.
