Sephora Says It Takes SZA’s Complaint ‘Seriously’
Sephora said that it takes R&B singer SZA’s recent complaint “seriously.”
Yesterday (May 1), the “Supermodel” singer may have been a victim of racial profiling while shopping a local Sephora. SZA claimed that while she was shopping at Sephora in Calabasas the staff members called security on her because they suspected that the TDE songstress was stealing.
SZA took to Twitter to air out her grievances. “Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing,” SZA tweeted. “We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy.”

“We have been informed of an incident at our Calabasas store and in addition to reaching out to SZA directly, we are gathering more information about the incident in order to take the proper next steps,” a statement sent via e-mail to HuffPost yesterday read.
“We take complaints like this very seriously, profiling on the basis of race is not tolerated at Sephora. Our purpose has always been rooted in our people and ensuring that Sephora is an inclusive and welcoming space for all our clients.”
SZA also received a tweet from the Twitter account for Sephora. “You are a part of the Sephora family, and we are committed to ensuring every member of our community feels welcome and included at our stores,” the tweet read.
