Salt-n-Pepa Parts Ways With Spinderella
There’s sad news for Salt-n-Pepa fans.
The iconic hip-hop group has parted ways with Spinderella. According to the DJ, the group terminated her back in January.
Last night (May 2), Spinderella took to Instagram to announce the surprising news. “I’m deeply saddened to share with all the #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella fans that I will not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour,” she wrote.
“Despite my participation in promoting the tour and being highly publicized as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘termination’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performances with the group.”
Spinderella said that she expected Salt-n-Pepa to share the news since they made the decision, but it’s been months and there has been no acknowledgment of her termination, so she took it upon herself to tell the public.
“Out of love for my fans and a commitment to upholding a standard of professionalism, I’ve taken it upon myself to let everyone know,” she wrote.
“I refuse to participate in misleading fans, ticket holders, and others who — based on all the advertising — were anticipating seeing the iconic #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella trio. So, I’m making it clear now,” she continued.
At the end of her note, the legendary hip-hop artist and DJ said that her fans will have other opportunities to see her this summer.
Although Spinderella won’t be joining S-n-P on the road this summer during the New Kids on the Block Mixtape Tour, she can still be caught on BET with Salt-n-Pepa alongside SWV for their new reality TV show Ladies Night.
