Jhene Aiko Drops New Single ‘Triggered (Freestyle)’ With Visuals
Early this morning (May 8), Jhene Aiko dropped her new single “Triggered (Freestyle)”along with visuals to match.
Aiko took to Instagram to announce the new release and tease the visuals in a series of posts.
Perhaps the new single will be a part of Aiko’s new upcoming project. The “Sativa” singer said on Instagram last month that she would be releasing a project that’s comprised solely of freestyles.
One might suspect that Aiko’s “Triggered (Freestyle)” is about her ex-boyfriend Big Sean. Last month, Aiko left the Detroit rapper a heartfelt message underneath one of his Instagram photos.
“You are so special. to me. To the world. While we’re both still on this planet I just want to say…I love you beyond measure. Even tho I get big mad and u trigger the f**k out of me. u make me feel. and i appreciate that. because i thought i was dead inside. my ego has no say when it comes to you,” Aiko wrote.
“And my heart has been broken a thousand times just to expand. it always finds room for you. the good and the bad. i love you from this life to the next and all the other lives we’ve known each other before. imma always talk my sh** but i’mma always have ur back.”
In the beginning of “Triggered (Freestyle)” Aiko sings, “Go figure. You were the trigger. You brought me to an obstructed view when you knew the picture was bigger. Who am I kidding? I knew from the beginning you’d ruin everything.”
“Cause when I get mad I get big mad. Should have never did that. Get back,” she sings towards the end of the song.
