Chanel Iman Covers ‘Harper’s Bazaar Kazakhstan’ With Her Daughter
Model Chanel Iman graces the June 2019 cover of Harper’s Bazaar Kazakhstan with her daughter.
In the issue, Iman opens up about family values, motherhood and modeling in an exclusive interview.
The new mother stated that she began focusing on becoming the best mother she could be as soon as she knew she was pregnant.
“From the moment I found out that I was pregnant, I tried to become the best mother I could, concentrating on everything I needed to give birth to a healthy baby,” Iman said.
“Now that Kali is with me, love for her makes me cultivate.”
During the interview, Iman expressed how she felt about the way society pressures mothers to “snap back” after giving child birth.
“Honestly, I think everyone should set their own goals. No one has the right to make you feel ugly just because you don’t fit his ideal,” Iman said. “I wanted to return to my old weight as quickly as possible, based on my own desires and the fact that I am a model.”
Chanel Iman also said that if she could change one thing about the modeling industry, she would make the industry more racially diverse.
“The industry is developing, but not as fast as we would like. I would make racial diversity on the podium a reality, not a planned event! I love to see the world as it is, with all its diversity,” Iman explained.
“Now he is programmed to show only what society wants to see. Fashion is a very strong driving force. It would be great to realize how beautiful the world is when we are all equal in it. ”
