An SUV that is allegedly registered to Los Angeles rapper YG was reportedly involved in a fatal shoot out and car chase with police.
A Los Angeles deputy sheriff pulled over a black Cadillac Escalade for reckless driving on Wednesday (Jul. 3) night around 11:20 pm PT after complaints were made, ABC News 7 reports.
Shortly after, around 11:35 pm PT, shots rang out and the encounter turned into a high-speed chase taking place from Compton to Inglewood, California.
The Cadillac Escalade, which is bulletproof is reportedly registered to YG whose given name is Keenon Jackson.
The passenger of the speeding SUV opened fire at the helicopter overhead while the chase made its way onto the freeway, according to reports.
"One deputy was struck. It appears that it was a grazed wound to his right arm that continued on and grazed his shoulder," Lieutenant Derrick Alfred told the local news outlet.
Discovered along the route of the high-speed pursuit was an unidentified male who had at least 17 fatal bullet wounds.
There's no clarity on whether or not the man was killed prior to the pursuit or during the shoot out between police and the alleged assault rifle from the vehicle's passenger seat.
The chase ended in Compton, and one man was arrested while another fled by foot. It's unclear whether or not YG was in the SUV during the time of the pursuit and shoot out.
Although fans have inquired about the incident on social media, YG has yet to comment on the encounter.
