Earlier this year, El Chapo was recognized as the head of the Sinaloa Cartel which is known as “the most powerful drug trafficking syndicate in the Western Hemisphere.” He was convicted for heading a criminal operation that funneled large amounts of heroine and methamphetamine into the United States. The Kingpin's trial lasted for three months and ended in February of this year.
His ability to escape authorities undetected has made him a legend.
