John Singleton’s mother, Sheila Ward, has reportedly been named the executor of the late director’s estate, reports The Blast.

When the famed director suffered a stroke in April, Ward initially tried to gain control of the estate. Singleton was taken off of life support and died on April 28.

However, Singleton’s daughter, Cleopatra, objected to the legal filing and debated her grandmother’s claims, including that the Boyz N The Hood director was comatose.

In Cleopatra’s legal filing, she alleged that Ward, who was Singleton’s business manager, attempted to block his children financially, abused her power, and “bullied and abandoned” Singleton since childhood.

Ward filed emergency documents in June, where she claimed that Singleton’s personal items were stolen from his home.

The beloved director had one will that was drafted in the early ’90s, prior to his children being born, which named his eldest daughter, Justice, as the heiress of his multi-million dollar estate.

Ward had previously written a lengthy Facebook status where she said that prior to Singleton’s death he was vomiting blood while bathing with his youngest child, his son, Seven, TMZ reported.

She said that her son could barely lift himself out of the bathtub and that his girlfriend, Rayvon Jones, sent the director to bed, and did not call paramedics.

“I can’t stop thinking about this truth. Can’t blame them. Don’t blame them,” Ward allegedly wrote. “I feel so sorry for them because they must live with it.”

Singleton, a Los Angeles native, had seven children.
