President Donald Trump recently took shots at John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen on Twitter, and the couple clapped back at Trump, blasting him for seeking recognition and deeming the president a "p---- a-- b----."

"lol What a p---- a-- b----. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president," Teigen tweeted. "Luna, remember the night before your first day of school? When mommy was making your sign and the p---- a-- b---- president had his 9th meltdown of the day," Teigen continued in her Twitter rant.

"the absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn't speak in the special, nor was I mentioned. I'm cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot be a b----," Teigen concluded referencing the NBC News Town Hall special that her husband, Legend discussed the country's broken criminal justice system on, which sparked Trump's tweets.

"Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody--ANYBODY--will praise you. Melania, please praise this man. He needs you," Legend tweeted. "Your country needs you, Melania," Legend continued.

"Ah yes, Melania is otherwise occupied. My apologies @realDonaldTrump," Legend tweeted, alongside a gif of Melania staring into Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's eyes.

Once Legend and Teigen's tweets began making waves on social media, the couple both sarcastically begged their followers not to make the hashtag #PresidentP----A--B---- trend. "No guys. no please, do not make this trend, for it is my fight with #PresidentP----A--B----, not yours!!!!!!" Teigen tweeted.  "Please don't make this foul-mouthed hashtag trend #PresidentP----A--B----," Legend tweeted.

After watching the NBC special, Trump took to Twitter to criticize Legend and Teigen, who claims that she wasn't even a part of the special, for not mentioning his efforts on criminal justice reform, which is why the married pair put the president on blast.

"When all of the people pushing so hard for Criminal Justice Reform were unable to come even close to getting it done, they came to me as a group and asked for my help. I got it done with a group of Senators & others who would never have gone for it. Obama couldn't come close....," Trump tweeted.

"A man named @VanJones68, and many others, were profusely grateful (at that time!). I SIGNED IT INTO LAW, no one else did, & republicans deserve much credit. But now that it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise. Guys like boring.....," Trump continued.

"musician @johnlegend, and his filthy-mouthed wife are talking now about how great it is-but I didn't see them around when we needed help getting it passed. "Anchor" @LesterHoltNBC doesn't even bring up the subject of President Trump or the Republicans when talking about... the importance of the passage of Criminal Justice Reform. They only talk about the minor players or people that had nothing to do with it. ..And the people that so desperately sought my help when everyone else had failed, all they talk about now is impeaching President Trump!" Trump continued.

Amid Legend, Teigen, and Trump's Twitter war, "#PresidentP----A--B----" didn't trend, but Trump's "#FilthyMouthedWife" quote did alongside a hashtag called "#TeamChrissy" that her supporters created during the social media rants. One Twitter user even created t-shirt's of President Trump's hashtag.  Check out the responses on social media to the Twitter debate.
