Back in May, Representative Daniel Hunt introduced bill H-3719 that would prohibit the word “bitch’ in Massachusetts.  The bill seeks to make the B-word illegal when it’s used to “accost, annoy, degrade or demean” another person.

Violators would face a fine of up to $200 or six months in jail, according to the legislation.

Jim Manley, an attorney with the Pacific Legal Foundation, opposes the bill, saying that this law would be a direct violation of the First Amendment, which protects the right to free speech.
