A CCSO Deputy was at the hospital with a subject in his custody. A struggle began as the subject grabbed the deputy’s firearm.
A #FayPD officer ran to assist the deputy. During the struggle, both the deputy and the subject sustained gunshot wounds.

The CCSO Deputy received a non-life threatening gunshot wound during the struggle.
After the deputy was shot, the #FayPD officer returned fire and shot the suspect. The suspect has been pronounced deceased. #FayPD #CapeFearValleyShooting
Fayetteville Police have said there are reports of an active shooter at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on Owen Drive.
Please avoid the area at this time.
Fayetteville Police told our news partners at ABC 11 that the situation had been “contained” as of 8:50 a.m.
