The City of Fayetteville has announced it will delay the start of paid public parking downtown until at least January of 2021.

"Paid parking downtown, initially set to begin on April 1, 2020, is delayed until January 2021," the city said in a release. "This change is due to impacts created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Timed parking limits on regularly signed spaces are still in effect. City leaders will reevaluate this decision before the new year."

While 28 on-street parking meter kiosks were installed earlier this year, they will not be active until next year. Parking in the two city parking decks is not impacted by this change.
