LeBron Got The Vaccine, Says ‘Not My Job’ To Urge Others
LeBron James has confirmed that he did get the COVID-19 vaccine but he said that he will not tell others what to do in regards to taking the vaccine explaining, “That’s not my job.”
During media day for the LA Lakers, the four-time MVP broke down his feelings are regarding the vaccine in relation to other topics he’s used his celebrity to discuss.
“We’re talking about individuals’ bodies,” LeBron said per TMZ. “We’re not talking about something that’s political, or racism, or police brutality. Things of that nature. We’re talking about people’s bodies and well-being.”
The NBA superstar added, “So, I don’t feel like, for me personally, that I should get involved in what other people should do for their bodies and their livelihoods.”
LeBron gave some advice in response to deciding on getting the vaccine saying “do what’s best for your family” adding, “I know what I did for me and my family. I know some of my friends and what they did for their families. But as far as speaking for everybody and their individualities and things that they want to do, I don’t feel like that — that’s not my job.”
This comes after the General Manager of the Los Angeles Lakers Rob Pelinka announced last week, “On opening night, all of the players that are currently signed on our roster will be deemed fully vaccinated.”
The season opener for the Lakers will be Oct. 19 against Golden State on TNT.
