With severe weather expected to impact the region, Cumberland County Schools has announced it will be releasing students and employees two hours early on Thursday.

And sadly for most kids, there won't be a "snow day" on Friday, as they will be switching to an "asynchronous remote learning day" for all students.

"In anticipation of inclement weather conditions, Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will release students and employees two hours early on Thursday, Jan. 20. All athletic events and after-school activities are canceled. Prime Time will operate for two hours after the dismissal of students. Friday, Jan. 21 will be an asynchronous remote learning day for all CCS students. During an asynchronous remote learning day, students work independently on assignments that are uploaded to the Canvas learning management platform and have five days to complete and submit their assignments. Prime Time will be closed on Friday and all athletic events and after-school activities are canceled."
