NEW YORK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 08: Megan Thee Stallion attends the 2021 Glamour Women of the Year Awards at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center on November 08, 2021 in New York City.

Megan The Stallion’s legal battle with her label 1501 Certified Entertainment continues. Megan released Something For The Hotties back in October of 2021 and now she and her label are arguing over if the project is considered a mixtape or album. The Grammy-winner is stating that the songs on the album are new material and that the project is the required runtime to be classified as an album that would fulfill her legal obligation with the label.

Detailed in her suit against 1501 Entertainment per Pitchfork, “Megan Thee Stallion claims 1501 informed her two months after its release that it did not meet the definition of an ‘Album’ under her recording agreement, and therefore did not satisfy her contract’s ‘Minimum Recording Commitment.’ She countered that the only parameter defining an album under the terms of the contract is its runtime, which must be at least 45 minutes in length; Something for Thee Hotties is 45 minutes and 2 seconds long. Megan Thee Stallion is seeking a non-monetary declaratory judgment that the record meets the definition of an album—satisfying the terms of her contract—and attorney’s fees.”

Megan took to Twitter to express her frustration after the news of the countersuit.

“First the man over my label said I don’t make him any money … now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me?” Meg wrote. “My lawyers asked him for an expense report(money 1501 supposedly has spent on ME)… why this grown a– man put his jewelry and chains on there… lord free me from this joke a– label.”

In her Twitter rant, the “Sweetest Pie” rapper said she decided to air it out online because she is “sick of being the bad guy 24/7.

The Houston native began calling out names to where the CEO of 1501, Carl Crawford could go find the money that Megan allegedly owes him.

“Carl I don’t wanna be signed to yo pill popping a–! You talking abt I ain’t paid for a show and you sound slow. Im the artist I don’t pay you directly maybe fight with THE MAN YOU SIGNED TO AND YOU MIGHT SEE SOME MONEY YOU F—— POWDER HEAD! You hiding behind JPRINCE,” Megan wrote. “Carl you got a wholeeee contact with 300 and talking s— to me like I got yo f—— money! You are ATTACKING ME ..why? Bc you want to be FAMOUS NOT RICH. Ask KEVIN LILES WHERE YO MONEY AT STUPID.”

The “Savage” rapper also claims that the label hasn’t paid her since 2019 and concluding her rant she wrote, “Bye im not speaking to nobody else on here ..see y’all in court.”

1501 fired back in an Instagram post, “Stop playing the victim @theestallion u haven’t paid for 1 show since 2019  hiding behind #Rocnation .. U can keep that bulls— a– mix tape and send over that straight drop whenever u ready #1501certified #tmz.”

As of now, no official court date has been publicly set.
