A rumor has been going around that Drake might be dropping something sometime this summer. After a snippet of a new song was passed around on TikTok over the weekend, signs are pointing to at least one new song that could be arriving.
Drake hasn't dropped any solo songs in 2022 thus far but has hopped on Future's No. 1 song "Wait For You" featuring Tems and "I'm On You." Drizzy also assisted Jack Harlow on "Churchill Downs" and began the year with Gunna's "P Power."
The Toronto rapper's last album was Certified Lover Boy which dropped last year and had all 21 songs land within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Of those 21 tracks, nine of them were in the top 10. Drake was the first artist ever to claim as many as nine of the top 10 positions in a single frame on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Although nothing has been confirmed on Drake's part, take a look at the Instagram post below with the snippet:
Drake's Certified Lover Boy is the Toronto rapper's sixth studio album that dropped on Sept. 3 debuting at No.1 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart. Since its release, it had thelargest first-week sales turnout this year with 613,000 equivalent album units sold making it Drake's fourth-largest first-week sale turnout behind Scorpion, Nothing Was the Same, Take Care, and Views being his top-performing album.
In typical Drake fashion, his album rollout was anything short of elaborate by buying out custom billboards from each featured artist on the roster.
The Certified Lover Boy also got attention for his album cover which features a grid of 12 pregnant woman emojis which since has been duplicated all over social media.
Drake dubbed this album, "a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking."
