Cumberland County Public Library is holding special events all October to help collect supplies for shelter pets, as well as adoption events.

The Cumberland County Public Library is stepping up the pet love, with the “31 Days of Love” campaign, to help get much-needed supplies to shelter pets.

Every library location in Cumberland County is accepting donations of pet supplies for animals that are sheltered at Cumberland County Animal Services.

“Donations can be delivered to any library location and may include pet food, toys, blankets, newspapers and other animal-related supplies,” Cumberland County said in a release. “Cumberland County Animal Services also has a donation wish list on the Cumberland County Animal Services website here.”

In addition to the supplies drive, if you’re looking for a furry best friend, there will be pet adoption programs throughout October at different library locations.

The scheduled pet adoption programs will be at:

  • Hope Mills Branch Library: October 8 – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Headquarters Library: October 15 – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Cliffdale Regional Library: October 18 – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • North Regional Library:  October 28 – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

And if you can’t make any of those special events, you can always see the shelter pets at Cumberland County Animal Services Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or on Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. (Call to confirm opening on weekends.)

You can also see the adoptable animals through Cumberland County Animal Services website here: Adoptable Animals.

Cumberland County Animal Services is located at 4704 Corporation Drive in Fayetteville. They accept donations of pet supplies year-round during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m and Saturdays 1 – 5 p.m.

Books and pets, name a better duo, I’ll wait.
