Kendrick Lamar’s Paris Show To Be Available Via Livestream
If you missed Kendrick Lamar on his Big Steppers Tour, you can catch his performance via livestream soon. On Saturday (Oct. 22) at 2 p.m. (EST), Kendrick will be performing at Paris’ Accor Arena and it will be livestreamed through Amazon, per Variety. Amazon Prime members can stream the concert for free.
The show is to mark the 10th anniversary of Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. The date is part of Lamar’s Big Steppers Tour behind his latest project Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
Since the drop of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, the Compton native has released the visual to “We Cry Together” featuring Zola actress Taylour Paige. He also dropped a music video for “N95.”
Most recently, Kendrick performed on Saturday Night Live for the 48th season premiere episode (Oct. 1). The rapper performed “Rich Spirit” and “N95,” and “Father Time” from his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. This is the rapper’s third time performing on the sketch comedy show.
Prior to the release of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, the Pulitizer Prize-winning rapper broke the internet with the drop of “The Heart Part 5.”
Kendrick accompanied the song with a video; in the clip, the rapper’s face morphs into several deepfakes, including OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Kanye West, and Nipsey Hussle. In each verse, he raps touches on a personal topic related to the Black celebrity. When he’s Ye he raps about West’s struggle with bipolar disorder and for Hussle, he speaks about the Compton rapper’s untimely death in 2019.
“The Heart Part 5,” is the latest installation of his “The Heart” singles series and his first song as a lead artist since 2017. The tracks have always arrived prior to the release of a larger project.
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers also marks the rapper’s end of his Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) career. The Compton native announced back in May that he is leaving TDE.
“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”
