As SZA fans gear up for her sophomore album S.O.S., the R&B singer dropped the cover art to her forthcoming project. The cover art to S.O.S. features SZA sitting on a diving board and peering out into the middle of an ocean.
The TDE artist told Billboard last month that S.O.S. will be out sometime in December. The forthcoming album does not have an official release date as of yet but she was able to let fans know where her new music is headed.
“I feel like music, in this capacity, I don’t see longevity,” she said. “I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don’t know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I’m supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody. I’mma take a good swing at it, and I’mma give ’em my absolute best.”
The New Jersey native also spoke about the stress of the industry: “I hate the red tape analytics of dropping anything—it’s so stressful,” she said. “I definitely have heard [the term ‘digital service provider’] more this week and last week than I have ever. I don’t like the way it sounds—it sounds stressful and like something that requires a lot of attention and maneuvering. I hate the word ‘single.’ It’s like, ‘What the f— separates a single from other s— on my album that I like? Why does it have to be different?'”
Since the official announcement of her sophomore album, SZA has released a new single titled “Shirt” and dropped a teaser for the unreleased “PSA.” The singer recently surprised fans during Lizzo’s Special Tour and performed what seemed to be a remix of Lizzo’s “Special.”
Lizzo then posted a TikTok featuring SZA as they lipsynced the lyrics to the “remix.”
No official announcement has been made as to if there will be a “Special” remix featuring the TDE artist.
