Diddy is a man of many names which he explained on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden on the The Late Late Show Thursday (April 20). The rapper has been called "Puff Daddy," "P. Diddy," "Puffy," most recently, "Love," and his birth name "Sean Combs" over the years but according to him only two people are allowed to call him "Sean."

Those two people are his mother Janice Combs and Jay-Z.

"We call each other Sean," Diddy revealed about fellow emcee and native New Yorker Shawn Carter before adding, "There’s not a single person outside of my mother that should be calling me Sean."

"You can call me any of the approved names," Diddy told Corden.

He then explained a little backstory behind his many aliases: "I was born Puffy and then I became P. Diddy. Then they called me Diddy because I was so pretty. And then Puff Daddy and then I became who I am now, which is Love. L-O-V-E, not Brother Love, just Love."

Corden then asked Diddy to make him a cool nickname and the rapper dubbed him "Love" as well. "We’re both Love, we’re both trying to have fun," he said.

Later in the episode Corden and Diddy talked about the father-of-seven welcoming in the latest edition to the Combs family whose name is "Love Sean Combs." Diddy announced that he had a seventh child at the beginning of the year.

"I'm so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world," wrote Combs, who did not share the identity of the baby's mother. "Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D'Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!"

Baby Love's mother is reportedly a 28-year-old cyber security specialist named Dana Tran.

Sean "Diddy" Combs has had a substantial and influential career in music, entertainment, and business. Diddy started his career as a talent director until he created his own label Bad Boy Records in 1993. On Bad Boy Records he helped cultivate the careers of Notorious B.I.G.'s along with R&B royalty Mary J. Blige, and Usher. On Diddy's own rapping accord, he released his debut album No Way Out in 1997 and is currently seven times platinum by the RIAA. After the show was over he found himself creating a band called Dirty Money in 2009 which was comprised of Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper.

Throughout his career, Diddy has had his hands in a lot of business ventures whether it was music, entertainment, or even the latest virtual currency. His businesses have put the entrepreneur on the map and have given him a lot of success since he just joined the billionaire club according to Forbes' former editor Zack O'Malley.

"Diddy becomes the third billionaire minted by Hip-Hop surging past Ye on the strength of several assets that have weathered the pandemic remarkably well," he wrote. "The value of his incredibly resilient Cîroc partnership with Diageo—which functions like an equity stake while creating cash flows for Diddy in the neighborhood of $60 million annually—continues to account for the bulk of his fortune."
