Russell Simmons Responds To Kimora Lee & Daughters’ Comments

Russell Simmons and his ex-wife Kimora Lee and their daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee Simmons were involved in a very public feud on Father's Day that now has the music mogul issuing an apology to his daughters.

"God is testing you a little bit, it’s ok, be strong. . . they are called growing pains," he wrote alongside a photo of Ming and Aoki on Instagram Monday night (June 19). "As you know, we grow through adversity and struggle . . . you read my books and heard me preach your whole childhood . . . reach back to old lessons and remember to remember ‘smile and breathe’ [heart emoji] ‘smile and breathe.'"

He continued: "You are the watchers of this world . . . so let go . . . be at ease . . . God is driving and he is working on you [heart emoji]. DEEPLY sorry for being frustrated and yelling . . . but know this . . . there are no conditions . . . for sure i love you guys more than i love myself."

The drama unfolded on Sunday morning when Ming wished her mother Kimora a Happy Father's Day on her Instagram Story. Russell fired back by posting a meme on Instagram that read: "Stop telling fathers they should have fought harder to see their children and start asking mothers why he had to fight at all."

Aoki jumped into the mix adding that she has tried to mend her bond with her dad but says he needs to seek mental health treatment.

"My father is not well, for years, he needs help and won’t accept that he refuses to acknowledge he is not himself," she wrote in a since-deleted post on Instagram. "He has threatened and bullied my sister, my grandma, he has harassed my grandma in the middle of the night in poor health, send a man to my sisters apt at 2am to scare her."

She continued: "He lashes out at ANYONE who does not say ‘oh Russell everything is fine.’ Well it’s not fine. If I ‘never get a fashion job again’ like he threatens, I’ll be a lawyer I guess and work in criminal justice. Sure I love my job but if he takes it away from me I won’t die. You don’t threaten my sister and grandma and mother and say ‘who’s gonna believe you I’m Russell Simmons nobody thinks I’m crazy’ well he is."

Kimora also put her two cents in on Instagram Live.  The Baby Phat founder said that Russell posts as if the two are cool, but she's had the Def Jam mogul blocked for a while now. Aoki also jumped in on that and shared messages from her father and a muted video of him on FaceTime where he seemed enraged.

Ming, Aoki, and Kimora have yet to respond to Russell's apology.

Summer Walker dropped her EP Clear 2: Soft Life and one of the fan favorites from the project was "Pull Up." On release day, Summer also released the music video to the song, which features her rumored boyfriend actor Lil Meech.

From Summer Walker's EP Clear 2: Soft Life, J. Cole made a guest appearance on the opening track "To Summer From Cole (audio hug)." Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar have teamed up once again. The "America Has A Probem" remix was a surprise drop from the artists. The two have previously collabed on "Freedom" from Beyoncé's Lemonade and "Nile" from The Lion King: The Gift.

Lil Durk enlisted J. Cole for the lead single "All My Life" off his latest project Almost Healed. Durk admitted that Cole bodied him on the song, which is a rarity with his features.

"He smoked my a-- on that one, for one — barely," Smurk said when asked about his experience working with the Dreamville boss, per Complex. "That barely happens. But shout out to J. Cole, shout out to [Dr.] Luke, we made it happen."
