Usher Reveals He Once ‘Babysat’ Beyoncé

Usher revealed that back in the day he was tasked with watching over Beyoncé and her group mates from The Dolls. In a conversation with Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp in the U.K., the "Superstar" crooner said he got the gig by being in the same studio session as Beyoncé.

Usher said at the time, Beyoncé was around 11 or 12 years old. It took place at Daryl Simmons' home.

"[Daryl Simmons] was working with them at the time, and I just happened to be over there and they were working on a session. I kind of found my way into being their like, I don’t know, chaperone, nanny, or something like that — the oldest person in the room," Usher explained.

Beyoncé was in The Dolls prior to her start on Destiny's Child which consisted of she, Kelly Rowland, Michelle in the former years. Beyoncé and Usher would soon collab for "Love in This Club, Pt. II" which also featured Lil Wayne. That song was released in 2008 and is on Usher's album Here I Stand.

Most recently, Beyoncé made a guest appearance on Travis Scott's Utopia for the song "Delresto (Echoes)." Right now, Beyoncé is still trekking on her Renaissance World Tour in support of her Grammy-winning album Renaissance. The tour was announced on Feb. 1 and she hit the road in May, playing Sweden, France, Germany, and more. However, once Beyoncé hit the North American leg of her tour, she began breaking records. For her July 29 and 30th performances at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey she generated $16.541 million for a total of $33 million. She broke the all-time record for the highest-grossing concert by a woman and for a Black performer.

Starting tonight (Aug. 11) Beyoncé will be heading to Atlanta to perform at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to perform for three nights.

Beyoncé embarked on her Renaissance World Tour in May with dates in France, England, Germany, and more. Days after her tour announcement, she became the most awarded artist in Grammy history when she won the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album Grammy for Renaissance. She took home four trophies that night as she accepted awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Plastic Off The Sofa," Best R&B Song for "Cuff It," and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for "Break My Soul."

"I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God. I'd like to thank my Uncle Johnny who's not here, but he's here in spirit." Beyoncé continued, "I'd like to thank my parents, my father, my mother for loving me and pushing me. I'd like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three Children who are at home watching. However, before there was Renaissance, before she was a solo superstar, she was the lead vocalist for one of the most influential girl's groups of all time, Destiny's Child. The final lineup of the group consisted of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. Beyoncé and Rowland were the only members throughout the entirety of the group's history. LeToya Luckett, Farrah Franklin, LaTavia Roberson, parted ways with the group in the early years.

The group originated under the name Girl's Tyme with Beyoncé, Rowland, Roberson, and Luckett in 1990. They later changed their name to Destiny's Child in 1997 when they were signed to Columbia Records. The group split after the final three members ventured out onto solo careers.

Destiny's Child was nominated for nine Grammy awards and won two in the group's history and went on to influence the current sound of R&B and Pop genres today.

"Say My Name" is a Destiny's Child classic and all OG Destiny's Child fans would love to here Beyoncé perform it on tour. The song won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and Best R&B Song in 2001. The song is from the group's 1999 album The Writing's on the Wall.

"Solider" would be a great addition to the set list as Beyoncé has already displayed that she has an army-inspired custom IVY Park outfit for the tour. This record is from the group's final album Destiny Fulfilled which was released in 2004. The song features rappers T.I. and Lil Wayne. The record was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2006.

Imagine a mash-up of "Thique" and "Bootylicious," an absolute dream. "Bootylicious" is on the group's 2001 album Survivor. A remix of the song with Missy Elliott is featured in the 2001 musical film drama Carmen: A Hip Hopera which Beyoncé stars in.

We could definitely see a "Cater 2 U" being performed before or after "Plastic Off The Sofa." The song is found on Destiny Fulfilled which was released in 2004. The song was nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2006.

Well, since Beyoncé told us to quit our jobs on "Break My Soul" she can at least perform "Bills Bills Bills" because someone has to pay them, right? "Bills Bills Bills" is from Destiny Child's second studio album The Writing's on the Wall. The song was the group's first No. 1 hit.
