Cardi B and Ice Spice exchange words on X amid a fan calling the "Up" rapper "ghetto" in a video on TikTok and later misidentified her as being of Mexican descent. Cardi took to X to respond to the TikTok user @bdtrelilbrother, who also calls himself Raymonte. He said that Cardi is "very, very ghetto" despite not being "visibly Black."

"It’s crazy because when I became famous people said I’m ghetto, talked shit about my accent, call me dumb because the way I speak, say I got no couth, talk about my teeth, my braids, my two buns… and to this day no matter what I accomplished I still get called a stripper all because I’m from the ghetto," she wrote.

"People misinterpret me because apparently I’m LOUD AND GHETTO TILL THIS DAY call me a hood rat and all… When I sat down with Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden they called me a ghetto stripper. Why is it that y’all gotta use me to make y’all comparisons cause y’all only see the glory but not when I get drag 24/7?"

"LEAVE ME TF ALONE AND OUT OF YALL BULLS---," she added.

Ice Spice's name later got brought into the mix when the fan brought up the fact that he and Cardi spoke a while back.

"You saying I’m using other women when me and you had our talk months ago you said why don’t I call Ice spice a Mexican you bring up other people not me I’m not bring in any other women in this I think yall all are great it wasn’t to offend or hurt you in any shape or form," he wrote on X.

Ice Spice Responds To Her Name Being Mentioned

"That’s not what you said," Cardi fired back. "You said nobody called me ghetto and now you moving the goal post… You know why I’m at where I’m at right now? Because I took all those no’s and recognized what I had to CHANGE. I had to change the way I talk, the way I act and the way I respond and how I present myself… you ignoring all of that and playing the color card because you don’t like me and it’s f----- up."

She also called out the fan for referring to her as Mexican but not other Dominican actors such as Jharell Jerome and Zoe Saldana.

"Same reason why you felt comfortable calling me a Mexican when I’m Dominican and I asked you why you feel comfortable calling me a Mexican when ice and jharell Jerome Zoe Saldana are Dominicans and you don’t do that to them. You do it to me because you know that’s what people use to hurt me… same way as you use my name in that video knowing exactly what you doing," she wrote.

That's when Ice Spice jumped into the chat herself and tried to explain a possibility as to why the fan grouped her in as Dominican and not Mexican.

"no offense bardi its cus i have a dominican parent & a black one [crying face emoji] [black heart emoji]," Ice wrote.

"I think there might be some confusion on what was said. I asked why he feels so comfortable calling me Mexican? I have no Mexican parents. My mom is Trini.. she came out of a whole black woman. My father is Dominican…I’m Dominican just like you. I also used other Dominicans as an example because as you should know a lot of times we get clustered into one because of the language," she wrote adding, "send me that pic you took of me wit ya camera from vanity fair? Thank youuu [kiss emoji]."

Ice responded with the photos from Vanity Fair to settle the mishap.

"I look like money, you could put my face on a dollar," Cardi B raps on "Bongos" featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The line rings true as she always serves a look on a red carpet or a fashion week event. While Cardi's rap career has been a wild ride, her fashion statements mimic that at every turn as well.

Cardi's Next "Money Move"

It's no secret that Cardi fans want her sophomore album. Her debut, Invasion of Privacy, took her from an internet personality and mixtape rapper to a history-making artist. Invasion of Privacy dropped back in 2018 and has songs such as "Money," "Drip," "I Like It" and her breakout hit"Bodak Yellow." She won the Best Rap Album award at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. She became the first female rapper to win the award as a solo artist.

Cardi recently dropped "Bongos" featuring Megan Thee Stallion which was her first song of 2023 as a lead artist. The song also was Megan's first song of the year. Previously, the rapper jumped on remixes such as Latto's "Put It On Da Floor Again" and FendiDa Rappa's "Point Me 2" this year.

It's been five years since the Invasion of Privacy so when asked what is the delay, the rapper got vulnerable on Instagram Live last year when answering the question.

"I’m just a mom and I do have anxiety," she said. "I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids."

In her latest interview with Vogue México y Latinoamérica she said that she's ready to continue making music.

"I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single," she shared. "Right now, I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up."

While we wait for Cardi to drop her album, take a look at 12 of her best fashion moments when she indeed did look like money:

Cardi B had a time in Paris this year and her hair and outfit proved it. She wore her hair straight with a mix of blonde and brown which differs from her normal dark hair choice. The dress has a high neck and long sleeves but the mermaid style shows off Cardi's curves making it an "it" dress for the rapper.

Cardi B looked stunning in silver for the 2023 VMAs. She wore a strapless silver metallic gown. On her wrist, she accessorized them with the same metal material from her dress. She also wore her hair in a sleek black straight look which made her dress stand out even more.

Cardi B loves an accessory and she wears them well. In this particular look she chose a jewel encrusted head piece and it gave her gown an even more classy look. The gown is tight and floor length and plays with the different jewels. Another unique aspect of this dress is the falling icicle-like shape throughout the body of the dress and gorgeous neckline.

Please invite Cardi B to every Met Gala. This year the theme was in celebration of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Cardi wore a beautiful black ball gown with a sleeveless dress shirt on top and a tie. She accessorized with black evening gloves and a headband. She also took a hair risk and wore short light blue hair.

This all-gold look was another Met Gala masterpiece by Cardi B. The rapper usually wearings her hair straight or wavy down decided to switch it up for a classy updo for her 2022 Met Gala appearance. While we love the change in hair, it's her stunning gold dress that blows us away. The necklace is the definition of a statement piece as it makes her gold dress be more even more pronounced. She looked like royalty with jewels from head to toe in this perfect fitting mermaid gown.

Cardi B looked almost unrecognizable in this Pre-Grammy outfit. Starting off with the hair, Cardi decided to do a short cut which hasn't been seen on the rapper in recent years. However, the dress stole everything away. She wore a mermaid style dress complete with brown and black leather patchwork and lace. To top it all off she wore black lace gloves and a thick gold tiered necklace.

Cardi B must had known it was going to be a big night for her with the entrance she made in this dress. The rapper looks to have "popped out" of the dress as it has a mermaid base and shell-like top. The inside of the dress is pink, the bottom is black and on her physical body Cardi has on gold. That night Cardi won Best Rap Album for her debut project 'Invasion of Privacy.' She was the first female rapper to win the award as a solo artist.

The bright red dress complimented her skin perfectly but what put this dress over the top is the chiffon headpiece and the simple pulled back hair with a swoop on her forehead. For someone who is used to having a lot of accessories on the carpet, this look she pulled back and only wore a diamond bracelet and rings.

Here is Cardi's look for the 2021 American Music Awards. She wore a champagne fur hood that had a diamond trim and a matching v-neck dress. The standout piece is the hood that drapes over the top of her dress. She also wore a bright red lipstick and smokey eye to really put the look together.

Cardi B stunned the crowd when she went on the red carpet for the 65th Grammy Awards. The blue gown had a cutout at her hip and a deep "V" cut at the top. However, what takes this look to the next level is definitely the exaggerated shoulders where the right side of the dress covers part of her face. This look will go down as one of her best.

Last but certainly not least is her look at the 2019 Met Gala. The theme of that year's Met Gala was camp and she certainly hit the nail on the head. Starting off from the top, the rapper's hair is not visible as it is concealed in a tight red headpiece that is connected to the dress. On top of the dress is also some jewels that are seen all over the gown. Moving onto the body of her dress, it has both a 3D-printed top as well as a "puffer" material that expands to a gorgeous train adorned with a feathered trim. This look certainly made her look like money that night.
