Rod Wave Arrested, But It Looks Like He Really Shouldn’t Have Been This Time
So, Rod Wave had a bit of a run in this week and ended up locked up on a firearm charge, something his legal squad is calling a total cap.
They’re pretty much saying, “Aht-Ant! No felony on Rod’s record. Maybe do your job next time?”
His new mugshot in Florida’s Manatee County Jail has been making rounds on socials since early Wednesday. He’s accused of having a couple of firearms he shouldn’t have because of an alleged past felony. But honestly, the details are as clear as my pollen-coated windshield.
His legal team, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, are not here for it. They’re like, “The cops got it wrong. Our boy Rod? A felon? Big cap!” They’re ready to make sure heads roll for the mix-up, promising to track down whoever dropped the ball.
“If you took two minutes to look at his record online, you would see that he’s not a convicted felon. And these are police officers that know how to check somebody’s criminal record,” Rankin told the Tampa Bay Times. “They cited a specific case in the affidavit to get him arrested, but if you look at that case, he was charged with a felony and then it was reduced to a misdemeanor. It takes two clicks to see that.”
Free Rod Wave
Despite the drama, Rod Wave got to slide up out of jail, though the jail’s paperwork still has him chilling in a cell. There are obviously levels to incompetence in Manatee County.
This isn’t Rod’s first rodeo (apologies, Cowboy Carter has me embracing my Southern heritage) with the law. He had a run-in with 12 in Florida over a domestic violence accusation, but that got tossed faster than leftovers a salad. So, his lawyers are standing 10 toes down, saying, “Our guy’s clean.”
Sounds like just another day in the life of Rod Wave, my luvs. Hopefully, he’ll write another hit about it. Stay tuned to see how this messiness unfolds.
