Meg Thee Stallion Announces 3rd Album
Meg, 29, will officially be releasing her highly-anticipated third studio album, Megan, later this month. She announced the project on Sunday (June 2) night while performing in Atlanta, Georgia. Latto joined her on stage to perform their 2022 song from Traumazine, "Budget."
After the show, she confirmed the surprise news on her social media pages with an artistic photo of the artist coming out of a cocoon and morphing into a butterfly. She's been teasing the project's release for months.
She wrote in the caption: "SURPRISE HOTTIESSSS!!!! My New Album 'MEGAN’ will be coming out JUNE 28. Click the link in bio to PRE-SAVE NOW!" Fans in her Instagram comments section shared their excitement of the album news.
One person wrote, "A world tour AND a new album!?!? we’re really outside this summer." Another commented on the album title, emphasizing, "SELF-TITLED?!?!?!?" A third gave their interpretation of the artwork and said, "It’s giving she went into the dark night of the soul, took time to look inwards and re-evaluate her goals and now she’s moving back from the dark towards the sun! [snake emoji, butterfly emoji] metamorphosis and alchemy medicine at its best." Swooned another, "oh shes evolvingggg [heart eyes emoji, butterfly emoji]."
What Will Megan Thee Stallion's 3rd Album Sound Like?
Earlier this week, Meg told L’OFFICIEL what fans can expect from her third album. “This is music I would like if I wasn’t Megan Thee Stallion," she told the publication in Thursday's (May 30) article. "I don’t want to say I’m tapping into other genres. I’m just tapping into other sounds."
She assured fans that the new music is "still very much Megan Thee Stallion. It won’t feel like I went so left. It’ll feel true to me." Elsewhere in the interview, Meg says her new album is hard to describe but is going to be different from her previous work. Instead of being negative, angry, or sad, she will have music that also reflects the happier emotions she has grown into.
What's The Concept of MTS3?
With "Hiss," "BOA," and other snake-themed artwork, many fans believe the theme will continue on in MTS3, but with the newly-released album artwork, the Grammy winner states: "We don't just stop at the snake. This is just what everybody sees right now. Renewal, rebirth: that is the whole concept of this [album]."
Her inspiration with the snakes stemmed from her love of the reptile but also because she finds snakes are so misunderstood, especially in Western culture. She points out that snakes represent rebirth and spirituality.
As we recently reported, Meg has been dropping singles and collaborations. Just a few days ago, Cardi B was featured on the "Wanna Be" remix.
Why You Should Follow These 7 Rappers On TikTok
TikTok is a place where you can find out your favorite artist's personality. Artists and their teams have been able to leverage social media to their advantage. It gives fans an inside look at who they are as a person outside of their music.
Latto is a perfect example of how she uses social media to her advantage and connects with fans. She often posts silly videos of her and her sister Brooklyn trying new food, participating in TikTok challenges, and previewing new music.
The Atlanta native has had an exciting year thus far as she was nominated for two Grammys. Latto was nominated for Best New Artist and her "Big Energy (Live)" was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards. On top of that, she just won her second BET Award on Sunday for Best Female Hip Hop Artist.
She later hit the stage to perform her latest single "Put It On Da Floor."

Besides music, Latto has used social media to clear up any beef she's had with fellow rappers. Back in March, a fan accused Latto of mimicking Ice Spice's cover to her debut EP Like...?
"Every time y’all accuse me of copying folks ima clear it up. Nun mo nun less."
"I don’t like how y’all take my tweets & make them fit ur weak a-- narratives," she added in a separate tweet.
Take a look at why you should follow Latto and more rappers on TikTok:

Cardi B is known for fire bars as an artist but the real appeal to her is that she reveals she is so relatable to her fans. In the TikTok above, Cardi gives fans a glimpse of her every day as "Belcalis" (her real name) and not as Cardi B the artist. Her TikTok account has previews of her music, reposts of fans vibing and dancing to her music, and social media challenges she participates in.
4. Coi Leray
Coi Leray loves to give her fans behind-the-scenes access to her music and TikTok is her medium.
