More About Tory Lanez and Raina Chassagne

According to the outlet, the pair are the parents of a 7-year-old son, Kai’lon, of whom she is seeking legal and physical custody. They also mention that Chassagne cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce filing.

Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet in the summer of 2020.

Last August, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón released a statement regarding the Canadian rapper’s prison sentence, saying, “Over the past three years, Mr. Peterson has engaged in a pattern of conduct that was intended to intimidate Ms. Pete and silence her truths from being heard.”

Gascón commended Megan Thee Stallion  “for her incredible bravery and vulnerability as she underwent months of probing investigation and court appearances where she had to relive her trauma, and the public scrutiny that followed.”

At the time, Megan, 29, shared a statement read by Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta.

“I struggle with being present. After everything that occurred, I cannot bring myself back to being in the same room with Tory,” the Houston native wrote in part. “I’ve been tormented and terrorized.”

According to Megan, Lanez "paid bloggers to disseminate false information, he treated my trauma like a joke when I could’ve been dead.”

“He blamed the system, he blamed the press, and as of late he is using his childhood trauma to justify his actions.”

Rapper Drake came under fire after posting Tory Lanez on his Instagram story Monday (Feb. 26). He posted a photo of Lanez with the caption, “3 you.”

Megan Thee Stallion supporters caught wind of the Instagram post and immediately attacked Drake for it.

"A few years ago Drake was dissing Tory Lanez. A couple years ago Tory Lanez was talking about how he sent Drake records he wanted a feature on a Drake ain’t respond. But this n---- shot a woman and got convicted, and all of a sudden, he’s Drake’s bottom bitch. K," one Megan supporter wrote.

"Of all the actual social causes Drake has stayed silent on, defending Tory Lanez is a weird hill to die on. Again I say this: A lot of women are too concerned with the women their man is following & not concerned enough about the men their man is following," another fan wrote.

Shortly after Lanez's conviction, he recorded a message to his fans on Instagram.

"Ayo Umbrellas, what’s good, I’m talking to you live from prison right now," he said. "Man. I’m just happy to get out of that county jail. They was hating on a young fly, you heard? Had me on 24-hour lockdown. Half-sized cell by myself. No windows, no mirrors. Ain’t even seen himself in a whole year, yo."

He continued: "But with all them disadvantages against me, my head is always been held high, man. And I want y’all to know that I’m in great spirits."

Tory Lanez has been taken into custody in connection to the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion.

Per Rolling Stone, the "Say It" rapper was handcuffed during the duration of the hearing due to him violating a protective order against Megan. Tory's bail has been set to a new amount of $350,000 in the felony assault case involving Megan.

An additional condition has been added to Tory Lanez's release terms, which prohibits him from mentioning "the complaining witness in this case in any social media." The "complaining witness" can be presumed to be the "Sweetest Pie" rapper.

Tory is also facing a carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle charge from that same 2020 shooting incident.

A trial date has been set for September 14, 2022.
