JT Says ‘Ego’ Played A Role In Argument With Yung Miami
A few months ago, the City Girls’ JT and Yung Miami got into a heated argument on social media. Though JT (real name Jatavia Shakara Johnson) and Yung Miami (real name Caresha Romeka Brownlee) made up a few hours later, their feelings were hurt.
In a new interview with Keke Palmer on her podcast, Baby This Is Keke Palmer, JT, 31, opened up to the host about how the public argument with Yung Miami went down. For those who missed it, the exchange, which has since been deleted, Yung Miami wrote: “For you to come on here & try to play victim is crazy! Jatavia you been sneak dissing me for the LAST COUPLE OF DAYS!!! I haven’t said s— back to you!! You made 2 whole songs DISSING ME & I STILL RAPPED your s— with my chest and showed love 🙂 so what’s the real problem here?”
The former girl group went back and forth, with JT replying, “Oh wow you’re really losing it! If you thought this why not speak to me about it? You came on here & said LOL so ppl can ask you why you wasn’t defending me….ATTENTION seeking as usual!”
Later that day, Yung Miami wrote following the heated exchange, “Jatavia I love you. I’m moving on!” JT replied, “I love you more. I actually love you the most!”
“Ego” Played a Role in Her Argument with Yung Miami
“I did not want that to happen… When you get to the point of ego… it gets there. You forget to express yourself in a private setting, or you forget to talk like adults,” she explained. The “OKAY” rapper admitted that the argument was stupid, and now it over and done with.
Now, she and the “No Bars” rapper can look back and find the whole ordeal as “a funny thing in time to us.” Though neither party has revealed exactly what prompted the heated exchange on social media, JT claims neither of them was in the right.
JT told Palmer, 30, “She should be able to tell her side or how she feel, because we both were dead a– wrong. It wasn’t no right person in that situation, and I feel like that’s just something that we should talk about as adults.”

As for Yung Miami, 30, she recently explained why the two of them have opted to focus on their solo careers as of late. She told Complex earlier this month that when they teamed up to work on music together, their 2023 RAW album didn’t “do too well” and the duo was just trying to do their press run.
Adding that she and JT were in “two different spaces” at the time, it “worked” for each other that they each pursued solo careers. Miami said, “But when we get together as a group, it just wasn’t connecting. It just wasn’t working no more.”
