Snow Way! Fayetteville Snow Forecast Looks Bright for Tuesday Night
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before (really recently), but the Fayetteville snow forecast actually looks real this time!
That’s right, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of Cumberland County, including Fayetteville, calling for 1-2 inches of snow expected. Impacts should come starting around 5 p.m. today, according to NWS.
In areas to the East of Fayetteville, up to 5 inches of snow are in the forecast. But, we always know how this goes and things can change. But for now, things look good.
Now, again, we saw something similar last week and got nothing. But this time sets up a little differently.
First of all, we are much colder right now than we were last week. That’s helping to set a foundation for air that won’t push away the moisture. And it’s going to help prevent some of the dreaded “warm nose” that impacts our area with snow usually.
That’s largely happening because of the storm coming through the South with a ton of moisture already involved. It’s so intense there are actual blizzard warnings currently in effect in Louisiana!
Generally, the forecast is calling for snow across the entirety of the listening area.
We’ll keep you updated all day with the latest forecasts and models, so you can be ready to build your snowman.
