Hip-hop fans, get ready—Ma$e is making a major return to music! The former Bad Boy rapper has announced that he’s dropping his first album in over two decades on the same day as the opening of Diddy’s sex trafficking trial.
Ma$e broke the news on his sports talk show, It Is What It Is, while listening to new music. “I’m listening to the songs that [Cam’ron] picked out of the stuff I made … It’s gonna be crazy. We had to pick the right records. I let him pick the right records,” he said, wearing headphones.
Dropping the Release Date with a Smirk
When guest co-host Maurice Clarett asked when fans can expect the album, Ma$e smirked and confidently responded: “May 25th. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping. You like that? You made me put it out there.”
A Triple-Disc Surprise
Ma$e also revealed that his new project will be a massive triple-disc release. After making the announcement, he added cryptically: “Now we even.”
Confusion Over the Trial Date
There’s a small catch—Diddy’s trial is actually set to begin on May 5. It remains unclear whether Ma$e will adjust his album’s release to match the actual start of the proceedings.
First Album in Two Decades
Ma$e has yet to reveal a title for the project, but this will mark his first studio album since Welcome Back in 2004 and his first full-length release since his 2009 mixtape, I Do The Impossible.
