Blac Chyna, Lyrica Anderson, A1 Enter The #DMXChallenge
The “DMX Challenge” is continuing to grow, and artists and celebrities are joining the roster.
New to the viral challenge is reality TV star Blac Chyna and singer/songwriter/Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood stars Lyrica Anderson and producer A1.
Blac Chyna took to Instagram and shared her #DMXChallenge video featuring a myriad of hair colors, including blonde, red, auburn, platinum blonde, black, blue, green, and orange.
A1 also took to Instagram and shared his #DMXChallenge which features his highly raved alter ego “Auntie A1” which is centered around his infamous blonde wig that he’s recently been rocking on Instagram. Unlike most of the challenge videos, A1’s entry didn’t show various hair colors and hairstyles, only various outfits. However, A1’s wife, Lyrica Anderson’s challenge, did feature a myriad of diverse hair color.
The “DMX Challenge” was created when social media users began having a bit of fun with DMX’s 1999 hit “What They Want” featuring Sisqo, which was featured on the rapper’s third studio album, And Then There Was X.
When the single dropped 19 years ago, it peaked at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and now the song is getting a resurgence with the viral #DMXChallenge on social media.
In the second verse of “What They Want,” DMX raps a roll call of all the women who he’s allegedly had sex with, and he lists each woman by name.
“There was Brenda, LaTisha, Linda, Felicia, Dawn, LeShaun, Ines and Alicia, Teresa, Monica, Sharron, Nicki, Lisa, Veronica, Karen, Vicky (damn), Cookie, well I met her in an ice cream parlor, Tonya, Diane, Lori and Carla, Marina, Selena, Katrina, Sabrina, about three Kims (WHAT?) LaToya and Tina, Shelley, Bridget, Cathy, Rasheeda, Kelly, Nicole, Angel, Juanita, Stacy, Tracie, Ronna and Ronda, Donna, Yolanda, Tawana and Wanda,” DMX rapped.
Coinciding with DMX’s roll call, social media users are taking to the #DMXChallenge by creating videos that portray all of their different looks to coincide with the women that DMX named in his popular single.
