Meek Mill Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Gun Charge, Ending His 12-Year Legal Case
) Rapper Meek Mill was arrested at the age of 19 in North Philadelphia on gun and drug charges, and now 12 years later, the “Championships” rapper’s criminal case has ended officially, as NPR reports.
On Tuesday, the rapper (real name: Rihmeek Williams) pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge in Philadelphia, where prosecutors dismissed all of Meek Mill’s remaining counts against him.
The judge also imposed no further penalty. The drug and gun case had been active since when the rapper was arrested in 2007.
Meek has been on probation during the majority of his adult life. “Meek free! I’m not on probation no more,” Meek Mill said to an excited crowd outside of the courthouse. “I just wanted to come up here and thank all the supporters, because I know y’all probably have family members in jail or people going through the same thing as me. I will continue to do what I do with the reform movement and help the people that help me.”
