Talkback for January 1, 2023 – Gen. Hugh Shelton Leadership Camp for Students
e.t. 28:15 – Paul Johnson (hosted) Talkback for Sunday, Jan. 1st – 1st day of 2023, 364 left in this year
Happy New Year from all of us at Beasley Media/Fayetteville. Talkback is the name of our weekly 30-minute Public Affairs program. It was named by Danny Highsmith, who going back more than 50 years, once hosted a daily 30-minute talk show on Beasley’s AM station in the day. Up to yesterday, Danny worked at Beasley Media – encouraging all of us to be better as broadcasters representing Beasley– most importantly, as better human beings in service to our community.
Now retired from Beasley as a distinguished alumnus, it’s a grace to us that he’ll doubtless make his contributions to our area and community in other ways! As you turn the page on this portion of your career, Thank you, Danny, for all you’ve done to improve us! And may you continue to improve the people you encounter in your new life adventures.
As we begin a new year, 2023, a lot of us begin with resolutions for the upcoming 365 days. How about giving the gift of a lifetime to a young person we love and for whom we have high hopes! Today, we reintroduce you to two friends from Methodist University we originally met in May of this year…Drs. Drew Zeiglar and Mark Kline, who head up the GEN Hugh Shelton leadership development camp! A program for high school age young people that will, by teaching what General Shelton simply called “the basics”, changes lives!
Thanks for listening to this special New Year’s Day Encore 2023 Edition of weekly Public Affairs show Talkback.
