Day 1 of Dreamville Festival 2023 is in the books, and it was a wild one.
Usher capped off the day that got started late, thanks to bad weather in the Raleigh area early on.
Gates didn’t open until 3 p.m., after a planned 12 p.m. start. The first performance by Marqus Clae started at 3:30, and then nobody took a breath.
To make sure every artist on the lineup got to perform, breaks were basically eliminated, and the show alternated stages quickly.
One other change to the lineup came with Toosii filling in for Key Glock, who couldn’t make it after his flight was cancelled.
Toosii also made news by stopping his performance when he saw someone pass out in the crowd. He later said the fan was OK.
Day 2 starts at noon on Sunday, and is scheduled to be capped with J. Cole and Drake.
