Dreamville this weekend was epic, per usual. Seriously, that place has a vibe that’s just electric—with the dopest people, and a buzz that makes you feel alive. It’s hands down one of the top spots to chill and have a time! IYKYK Dreamville always brings it. But let me tell you, the cherry on top of my already amazing weekend—maybe even my year—was bumping into my all-time favorite artist.
Can we talk about how some musical geniuses are still flying under the radar? It blows my mind. Meeting Rapsody, yep, thee Rapsody, felt like winning the lottery. She’s a rap goddess in my eyes, and it’s insane she isn’t a household name yet. She’s got this vibe that’s just magnetic, totally real, and, the personification of BGM.
Now, I like to keep it cute and professional—I’ve been in radio long enough to know how to act around celebs (I generally hide until confronted with an interview.) But seeing Rapsody in the flesh? Total fangirl moment. I was this close to losing it and crying like a baby, right there in front of everyone. All I managed to do was gush all over myself about how much I idolize her.
But here’s the thing—it’s not just about her music. It’s her whole artistry that gets me.
