This weekend the biggest stars of WWE are bringing you a night of unforgettable action at WWE Crown Jewel, live from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Which means it’s time for me to, once again, do what I do best(?) and make my match predictions!

World Champions Collide

History will be made at this year’s Crown Jewel event, when WWE Champion Cody Rhodes goes head-to-head with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Championship. The newly-minted title was unveiled last month at WWE Bad Blood by the company’s Chief Content Officer Triple H.

With such a monumental prize hanging in the balance, it only made sense that the respective world champions of both flagship brands compete for the honor of being its first holder.

The American Nightmare and the Ring General have both enjoyed tremendous success in 2024, and a win of this magnitude would be yet another historic accolade to add to their resume. Which champion will claim the first ever Crown Jewel Championship?

Bloodline vs. Bloodline

This match was inevitable ever since the return of Roman Reigns back at SummerSlam. In a match pitting family against family, Roman Reigns will reunite with his cousins Jimmy and Jey Uso against the new Bloodline, led by the Usos’ traitorous brother Solo Sikoa. And you thought YOUR family Thanksgiving was gonna be dysfunctional.

While Jimmy and Roman seem to be on good standing heading into Crown Jewel, there’s still the Jey Uso of it all. While Jimmy may have been quick to rush back to Roman’s aid, his twin brother doesn’t seem as eager to rejoin the fold. After all, Jey had suffered through years of cruelty and manipulation at the hands of his cousin. It wasn’t until Jey broke free from the Bloodline that he was able to harness his true potential and launch himself into a stellar singles career.

But now the Bloodline has found its way back into Jey’s life, and it’s clear that he’s conflicted about where he stands with his brothers, his cousin, and himself. Will Jey be able to let bygones be bygones, or will his extreme (albeit valid) resentment toward Roman be the OG Bloodline’s ultimate undoing?

Prediction Perfection

I make no bones about the fact that my predictions for WWE Bad Blood last month were, to put it lightly, utterly crappy shameful garbage. Nevertheless, I have learned from what went wrong with my prediction process and recalibrated. My mental squared circle algorithm is now running at 100% capacity, and I am positively certain that my predictions will shine at WWE Crown Jewel! Here are my picks:

• LA Knight (C) vs. Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes - United States Championship

  My pick: Carmelo Hayes

  The young upstart Carmelo Hayes has made a definitive name for himself since debuting on SmackDown earlier this year. His best-of-seven series with Andrade have continually torn the house down. With the two rivals trading wins week in and week out, it was only fitting that it lead to both stars being added to the Megastar LA Knight’s United States Championship defense at Crown Jewel.

  I’ll admit I’m mainly voting with my heart on this one. I’ve followed Carmelo’s career ever since he crossed the curtain in NXT, and have enjoyed witnessing his star rise more and more over the years. I would love to see Hayes ride this wave of momentum to his first championship win on the main roster. As they say, ‘Melo don’t miss!

• Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair (C) vs. Damage CTRL vs. Meta-Four vs. Chelsea Green & Piper Niven - WWE Women's Tag Team Championship

  My pick: Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

  It would be so easy to bet against the defending Tag Team champions when they’re up against three other formidable teams vying for their gold. It would be so easy to assume that one team will capitalize on the chaos of a fatal four way tag team match to sneak a win out from under the champs.

  However, when the champions are Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair, nothing is easy. These two are formidable enough on their own, but have proven to be nigh unstoppable as a unit. After securing their titles back from the Unholy Union at Bash in Berlin, Cargill and Belair have continued to steam roll over every team thrown their way. I don’t see that changing this weekend. Champs retain.

• Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens

  My pick: Kevin Owens

  Kevin Owens and betraying his friends. Name a more iconic duo. Growing frustration between Owens and his former friends Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton has come to a head in recent weeks, with KO brutally attacking both men.

  While Orton and Owens have faced off many times before, I don’t think Randy has ever seen this side of KO. Hell, I don’t think anyone has seen him this unglued. While Randy prides himself on his methodical in-ring technique and capacity for mind games, I fear he may be underestimating the man he’ll be in the ring with on Saturday. Kevin Owens will win, and it’s gonna be ugly.

• Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed

  My pick: Seth Rollins

  Big Bronson Reed shocked the world back in August when he ambushed Seth “Freakin'” Rollins on Monday Night Raw, delivering six devastating tsunamis to the defenseless superstar. This was an act of war in the eyes of Rollins, who returned last month to offer his salvo in the form of a crushing curb stomp to Reed.

  It’s a classic bout of speed and resourcefulness versus raw power and brute strength. While I do have Rollins picking up the victory, I think Reed will take him to his absolute physical limit on his way to it.

• Liv Morgan vs. Nia Jax - WWE Women's Crown Jewel Championship

  My pick: Liv Morgan

  History will be made among the WWE women’s division, with Raw Women’s Champion Liv Morgan facing off against Smackdown Women’s Champion Nia Jax for the inaugural WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.

  With Rhea Ripley now out of the picture due to injury, Liv will be able to focus 100% of her energy on beating the imposing Nia Jax. What the Raw Women’s Champ lacks in size, strength and power compared to her opponent, she makes up for in the company she keeps. With Dirty Dominik Mysterio in her corner, along with the powerhouse Raquel Rodriguez, I don’t think this fight is as mismatched as many would presume. I call Liv pulling off the upset win against Nia, with the latter possibly opening herself up to a Money In The Bank cash-in later.

• Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther - WWE Men's Crown Jewel Championship

  My pick: Gunther

  If anyone else were World Champion heading into this match, my money would be on Cody full stop. Unfortunately for Rhodes, the champion he’s facing is the Ring General Gunther.

  With unparalleled in-ring acumen and a vast arsenal of devastating attacks, Gunther is no doubt the toughest challenge to date for the American Nightmare. What makes this match especially intriguing for me to pick for is the possibility that Gunther could pick up a win over the WWE Champion clean as a whistle, and it wouldn’t feel out of place at all.

  I wouldn’t be at all surprise if Gunther won with zero outside interference or shenanigans that usually occur when someone gets a win over the good guy champion.

• Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso vs. The Bloodline

  My pick: Bloodline

  Is it cheating if I don’t specify WHICH version of the Bloodline I picked? I’ll go ahead and clarify that I see Solo’s team picking up the win against the OG Bloodline here.

  As nice as it would be to see Roman, Jimmy and Jey triumph this weekend, I just don’t see it. Jey’s relationship with his brother and cousin is still fractured, and Roman has yet to actually reconcile with how cruelly he treated his family members during his rule as Tribal Chief. It won’t be until Reigns can finally apologize for his actions towards Jey that they can mend their broken bond and reach the top together.

  Unfortunately, I don’t think Crown Jewel will serve as their Camp David. At some point in the match, their bitterness will get the better of them and will cost them the match against Solo’s Bloodline.
