MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA - JULY 23: Yung Miami of City Girls performs on stage during Rolling Loud at Hard Rock Stadium on July 23, 2021 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Yung Miami began trending on Twitter after a recent interview where she claimed she wants to be the next “Black” Oprah.

Yung Miami (born Caresha Brownlee) spoke to XXL about her media journalism aspirations but one comment during the interview instantly made her the top trending topic on Twitter. The publication asked the “Twerkulator” rapper how she came up with the idea to have a show. She said, “People just loving to hear me talk.” She added that she came up with the idea because she had success in her Instagram Live sessions which would get thousands of views from fans.

Yung Miami revealed that her rumored boo Diddy suggested, “It would be good” for her, and she went from there.

She continued, “I want to take it to the next level. I want to be like—I think she has a podcast now—a person like Wendy Williams.”

The City Girls rapper is the host of REVOLT’s Caresha Please and she told the hip-hop publication that she wants to continue to “dream big,” adding that she’s aiming for “the highest of the highest,” in her career. “I want to be the Black Oprah,” Yung Miami declared. She then followed it up with a tweet: “The next ((((BLACK)))) OPRAH!!”

Her “Black Oprah” comment got some mixed reactions from Twitter as she is referring to Oprah Winfrey, a high-profile journalist, and Black woman. Twitter users believed that Yung Miami was being shady with her comment while some found it to be hilarious.

Rapper and good friend to Yung Miami, Saucy Santana, came to her defense, stating, “The reason Caresha had to explain cuz y’all take everything literal. WE GO TOGETHER!!! Iykyk.”

Yung Miami retweeted his comment writing, “IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW!!!”

Caresha Please debuted on Diddy’s REVOLT this past June and has consistently earned millions of views on YouTube. Guests such as Kevin Gates, JT, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, and Latto have all sat in the hot seat.
