Ava Duvernay’s ‘When They See Us’ Is Netflix’s Most-Watched Series In June
Ava Duvernay’s When They See Us, which is currently streaming on Netflix, has been the streaming behemoth’s most-watched series every day since it premiered on May 31.
When They See Us is gutwrenching four-part miniseries that recounts the infamous wrongful conviction of the “Central Park Five,” in relation to 1989’s Central Park jogger case.
The series is created, co-written, and directed by Ava Duvernay, and stars Niecy Nash, Jharrel Jerome, and Michael K. Williams, among others.
When They See Us premiered on Netflix on May 31 and launched various conversations on social media regarding systemic racism in America, causing celebrities, prosecutors, lawyers, and other figures who were involved with the infamous case to chime in.
Netflix, who typically doesn’t share rating figures took to Twitter to share that the series has been the most watched series on the streaming platform in the United States every day since it premiered.
